Another year is behind us with new opportunities in the distance. This is a pretty exciting time of year if you’re a bowhunter. It’s the time for planning, practicing, and testing new gear. This is also a great time for new beginnings. If bowhunting is something you’ve been kicking around and haven’t quite pulled the trigger on it yet, now is a fantastic time to do so. You’ve got roughly 6 months before Fall archery seasons kick off, which is plenty of time to get acquainted with your first bow. There are definitely a lot of options out there though. I’m sure if you’ve ever walked into a pro shop and seen the walls filled with bows, you know what I mean. And if you haven’t, this can be quite overwhelming. Where does one begin? Fit for the Hunt: Does Fitness Matter in Hunting?

It’s that time again! A new year and new you right? Time to break bad habits, get that new job, and crush any other goals you might have in front of you. The beginning of the year is a great time for a fresh start. Many people turn their focus to fitness right now. It’s understandable coming from the holiday season and all. I don’t know about you, but I sure indulged in my fair share of apple pie, cookies, and laying around by the Christmas tree. It was awesome and I wouldn’t trade it. With that being said, I think it’s probably safe to say it’s time for a change. We are required to be fit nowadays right? So we can crush the mountain and all? That’s what social media tells us, but how much truth is there? Let’s chat about how much fitness really plays a role in better hunting.

Broadheads and Bowhunting: Picking the Right One for You

The broadhead has been a pretty hot topic in the last few years within the bowhunting space. So many tests are being put up on Youtube trying to show flight, penetration, and durability. All qualities that a broadhead needs to excel in to be fit for the hunt. It’s understandable why so much attention gets put on them. Think about it. The broadhead is the deal sealer. It’s the thing that takes care of business after you’ve lost control of the situation. A less than adequate broadhead can set one up for disaster. And let’s be frank with each other, nobody wants that on their shoulders. While those qualities mentioned are all needed, that doesn’t cover the different types of broadheads out there on the market. With so many varieties to choose from, it can be confusing at times trying to pick what’s right for you. In light of that, we’re going to cover what we believe are the 3 main categories in the broadhead world. At the end, you should have a better idea of what route you’d like to go in terms of the slicing and dicing side of things.
